More than 80 student-athletes named to Academic All-Region teams

Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) student-athletes demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence this fall, with 84 being named to Academic All-Region teams for the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

To qualify, student-athletes must achieve a 3.5 - 4.0 grade point average (First Team) or a 3.0 - 3.49 grade point average (Second Team).

"Our student-athletes did a great job during the fall semester and have set an amazing precedent for semesters to come, achieving an overall department grade point average of 3.30," Athletic Director Nick Weinmeister said. "At NICC, we are committed to providing a strong academic experience, and our faculty does a great job of preparing students for future success. Academics are a top priority at NICC, and to have 84 student-athletes qualify for this recognition speaks to the high-quality students we have and the commitment to their academic progress."
